Riven Black Ice

Overview

Black Ice is designed for practiced diaphragm callers seeking acoustic realism and extensive tonal control rather than the easiest possible reed to learn. The large, non-domed frame provides a more open calling platform, allowing a skilled caller to work through deep notes, full bugles, aggressive chuckles and screams. Its broad low-to-high range makes it especially suitable for hunters who already know how to manage tongue pressure and airflow. Compared with a domed diaphragm, Black Ice takes additional technique to run consistently, but that freedom of control is exactly why it appeals to advanced elk callers.
